Emergency contraception access.
"As long as condoms break, inclination and opportunity unexpectedly converge, men rape women, diaphragms and cervical caps are dislodged, people are so ambivalent about sex that they need to feel swept away, IUDs are expelled, and pills are lost or forgotten, we will need emergency, postcoital contraception."
Contraceptive Technology, 16th edition

This is a community for people who are willing to help women access emergency contraception in the United States, and for those who need it. Since time is of the essence with this medication (EC is most effective when taken within 72 hours of sex, and can be effective for up to 120 hours), the sooner a woman can get it, the better.

If you need emergency contraception, we're here to help. If you need EC, post here (or e-mail the moderator) with your location, how long it's been since you had sex, and what you've already tried (calling pharmacies, making a doctor's appointment, etc.). Someone will respond to you either through the post or via e-mail with information on how to get EC.

Anyone, male or female, that is over 18 can purchase EC. EC is effective and safe to use. There is no valid reason for it to be prescription-only for minors, and no valid reason for it to be inaccessible to anyone.

U.S. members: Does your pharmacy refuse to fill birth control/emergency contraception prescriptions? Find out! And if they do, write a letter and tell them what you think of that!
